Macquarie Cloud Services retains Microsoft Azure Expert MSP status following 2026 audit

August 24 2026, by Macquarie Technology Group | Category: Cloud Services

Sydney, Australia – Macquarie Cloud Services has retained its Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services Provider (MSP) status after successfully completing its latest independent progress audit on 29 May 2026.

The result provides Australian organisations with fresh, independently assessed evidence of Macquarie Cloud Services’ capability to design, migrate, manage, secure and optimise Microsoft Azure environments.

Azure Expert MSP is Microsoft’s highest-level managed services accreditation for Azure partners. Unlike a standard partner designation, organisations must meet stringent prerequisites and pass an intensive independent audit covering their technical expertise, operational processes, governance, customer delivery and managed services capabilities. Microsoft also requires Azure Expert MSPs to be re-evaluated annually against evolving standards.

What Azure Expert MSP status means

Azure Expert MSP is a Microsoft program recognising partners with independently verified expertise in managing complex Azure environments.

Microsoft describes Azure Expert MSPs as partners that have passed a rigorous independent assessment of their people, processes, technologies and customer delivery capabilities.

To qualify, partners must meet Microsoft prerequisites covering areas including Azure capabilities, certified staff, Azure consumption, customer references and managed services. They must then pass an intensive independent audit against Microsoft’s current Azure Expert MSP requirements.

The distinction is also an ongoing standard rather than a one-time award. Microsoft re-evaluates Azure Expert MSP partners annually, with renewal requiring partners to continue meeting current qualification requirements and successfully complete the applicable audit.

For customers, that provides an important additional layer of assurance: the provider managing their Azure environment has had its processes, people, technology and real-world delivery independently tested against Microsoft’s standards.

Macquarie Cloud Services’ Azure Expert MSP status in 2026

Macquarie Cloud Services’ latest Azure Expert MSP progress audit was conducted on 29 May 2026, concluding that Macquarie Cloud Services successfully met the requirements for the Microsoft Azure Expert MSP program

Macquarie Cloud Services met the required criteria across all four areas assessed:

  • Business health and Azure managed services focus
  • Microsoft Azure services
  • Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Cloud operations and service management

What did the independent Azure Expert MSP audit find?

The independent auditor found Macquarie Cloud Services demonstrated strong technical expertise in the design and deployment of Azure services, supported by a significant number of customer implementations and demonstrated use cases.

The assessment also found Macquarie Cloud Services had established mature cloud transformation strategies and methodologies supporting customers through cloud adoption and modernisation. This included Macquarie Cloud Services’ cloud adoption and optimisation work for all managed services customers.

Evidence assessed included Azure discovery workshops, cloud strategy and planning, FinOps assessments, cost modelling, DevOps capability assessments, security and risk assessments and Azure optimisation recommendations from real customer environments across the cloud adoption and well-architected frameworks. This brought to life both the technical and operational capabilities Macquarie delivers through its Managed Azure, Systems Reliability Engineering and Managed Security offerings, providing over 100 differentiated features in addition to Microsoft Azure.

What does Azure Expert MSP status mean for Australian organisations?

Azure environments are becoming more important, and more complex, as organisations modernise applications, strengthen cyber security, optimise cloud expenditure and establish the foundations for data and AI initiatives.

Choosing an Azure partner therefore increasingly means assessing more than migration capability. Organisations need confidence that their provider can govern environments after migration, manage costs, maintain security controls, automate operations and continuously optimise workloads as Azure evolves.

Azure Expert MSP status gives technology leaders an independently assessed benchmark when making that decision.

Macquarie Cloud Services combines that accreditation with a dedicated Azure practice of more than 50 certified Azure engineers, 100% Australian support and Tier 1 Direct CSP capability. Macquarie Cloud Services’ customers typically achieve Azure cost savings of around 26% through rightsizing, governance and optimisation.

Why Macquarie Cloud Services’ Azure Expert MSP status matters

Retaining Azure Expert MSP status in 2026 reinforces Macquarie Cloud Services’ position as a trusted Microsoft Azure partner for Australian organisations navigating increasingly complex cloud environments.

More importantly, the accreditation is backed by independently assessed evidence. The latest audit validated Macquarie Cloud Services’ technical expertise, governance, operational processes and ability to deliver measurable improvements across real customer Azure environments.

As Australian organisations look to modernise applications, strengthen cyber security, optimise cloud investment and build the foundations for AI, the ability to manage Azure effectively beyond the initial migration is becoming increasingly critical.

Macquarie Cloud Services’ continued Azure Expert MSP status provides organisations with confidence that its Azure capability has been independently tested against Microsoft’s standards and demonstrated through real-world customer delivery.

For Macquarie Cloud Services, the successful 2026 audit is not simply a renewal of an accreditation. It is independent validation of the Azure expertise, operational maturity and customer outcomes that underpin its managed cloud services.
