CAUDIT Cloud Infrastructure Forward Commitment Program
Lock today's pricing. Guarantee supply.
Vendor price increases of 15–30% have already landed in 2026. A further 20–40% is expected by May. Through the CAUDIT Cloud Infrastructure Forward Commitment Program, Australian and New Zealand universities can secure current pricing, guarantee supply, and move procurement out of a volatile and worsening market.
Minimum commitment: $500,000 | Program closes: 22 April 2026
The Market Context
Your procurement window may be problematic.
CAUDIT has advised member institutions to review forward procurement plans in anticipation of ongoing price pressure. The data confirms this is not a short-term disruption — it is a structural shift with no normalisation expected before H2 2027.
- Price increases of 15–30% have already landed
- Quote validity has collapsed to 7–14 days
- No pricing visibility beyond May 2026
- Supply allocation is not guaranteed
Program Overview
A prepaid credit mechanism that locks pricing and guarantees supply.
Macquarie Cloud Services is offering CAUDIT member institutions a prepaid credit mechanism that locks current pricing and guarantees supply ahead of further market escalation.
Member institutions purchase prepaid infrastructure credits from Macquarie Cloud Services prior to 22 April 2026 at current market pricing. We then execute a bulk procurement with Dell Technologies in late April, securing hardware at locked pricing and guaranteed allocation. The combined volume across all participating institutions is what makes this possible.
Credits are redeemed against the full CAUDIT Cloud service catalogue — and are not limited to Dell hardware. Eligible services include IaaS, colocation, HPC, Azure, and SOC services. Procurement is executed through CAUDIT pre-approved contract frameworks, so no individual RFx process is required.

Why Macquarie Cloud Services
Australia's sovereign cloud partner for higher education.
Macquarie Cloud Services is an Australian company, operating Australian infrastructure, with a track record of supporting the specific compliance, security, and operational requirements of Australian universities and public sector organisations.
Australian-owned & operated
Our data centres are in Australia and operated by Australians. We are not subject to foreign jurisdiction legislation that could affect data access or sovereignty. For institutions with obligations under the Australian Privacy Act, ASD frameworks, or institutional data governance policies, this distinction matters.
Established CAUDIT community partner
This program was developed in direct response to CAUDIT’s advisory to member institutions on forward procurement risk. We have worked with the CAUDIT community on sector-specific procurement frameworks and understand the governance, compliance, and operational context of Australian higher education IT environments.
Dell Technologies Titanium partner
Macquarie Cloud Services operates at a procurement scale with Dell Technologies that enables consolidated bulk purchasing unavailable to individual institutions. Our purchasing relationship allows us to lock pricing, secure allocation, and execute in the late April window that this program requires.
Frameworks already in place
The CAUDIT pre-approved contract frameworks are already established. Your institution does not need to initiate a new tender process. Legal, commercial, and governance review is substantially reduced – which matters when the procurement window is measured in days, not months.
