Where continuity
falls short.
Most business continuity plans (BCPs) weren’t designed for today’s cyber threats. With most Australian organisations having experienced a breach, today’s threats expose gaps that traditional plans can’t cover.
- BCPs rarely account for modern cyber threats, leaving organisations exposed to ransomware and data loss.
- Recovery processes take weeks, with an average 51 days to resolve major cyber incidents.
- Outdated or disconnected tools make effective recovery difficult, especially when restore points can’t be trusted.
- Rising insurance and compliance expectations demand stronger continuity and cyber recovery capability.

Business Continuity FAQs.
What is business continuity planning?
Business continuity planning is how you keep critical services running through disruption – cyber incidents, outages, supplier failures or site-level events. It covers priorities, roles, access, communications and the steps needed to keep the business operating while systems are restored.
What is the difference between business continuity, disaster recovery and backup?
Business continuity planning is the overall plan for staying operational. Disaster recovery is the technology and runbooks that bring systems back online within agreed targets. Backup solutions protect your data and restore it when something goes wrong, but backup alone doesn’t guarantee application recovery or recovery time objectives (RTOs).
What does “managed business continuity” mean?
Managed business continuity means we help you design, run and maintain your continuity approach – not just write a planning document. That includes aligning recovery priorities to business impact, tightening governance and access controls, and coordinating backup solutions and disaster recovery so the plan stays current as your environment changes.
How do you set recovery targets like RPO and RTO?
We start with what the business can realistically tolerate. RPO is how much data you can afford to lose (minutes, hours, or a day). RTO is how quickly systems need to be back online. From there, we map systems by criticality and match the right recovery approach – from backup-based restore solutions through to Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service for faster recovery.
How do managed security services support business continuity?
Continuity fails when security fails, so managed security services should be part of the plan, right from the start. We help integrate monitoring, alerting, access controls and recovery-layer protection so you can detect issues early, preserve verified restore points and recover safely after cyber incidents.
How do I know the plan will work in a real event?
Testing is non-negotiable. We define a practical test cadence, run recovery drills that validate key assumptions (people, process and platforms), and document what worked and what needs tightening. The goal is simple: fewer surprises during a real incident, and faster, better recovery.
