Macquarie Cloud Services retains Microsoft Azure Expert MSP Status for a sixth year.

July 1 2026, by Shaun Domingo | Category: Cloud Services

For the sixth consecutive year, Macquarie Cloud Services part of ASX listed Macquarie Technology Group has renewed our Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services Provider (MSP) status, cementing our place as one of Australia’s most trusted Azure managed services providers.

With only five Australian-owned Azure Expert MSPs and just 130 MSPs holding the status worldwide, this is Microsoft’s highest accreditation for Azure managed service providers.

Achieving it once is significant. Retaining it year after year is something else entirely.

More than a badge.

While many technology certifications are earned once and displayed indefinitely, Azure Expert MSP is different. It requires annual independent audits that rigorously assess every aspect of an organisation’s Azure practice, from strategy and architecture through to governance, operations, automation and customer outcomes.

Retaining the accreditation for six years reinforces what our customers already know: Macquarie Cloud Services delivers managed Azure services independently validated against Microsoft’s highest benchmark.

The audit evaluates how partners support customers across Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, including:

  • Cloud and AI strategy
  • Adoption planning and transformation roadmaps
  • Architecture, landing zones, and security
  • Governance and compliance
  • Operational excellence and managed services
  • Platform automation and optimisation
  • Ongoing support and customer success

Passing requires extensive evidence, customer references, process validation and independent review of real-world Azure engagements. It demands hundreds of hours of preparation across the business, drawing on extensive libraries of internal knowledge and Infrastructure as Code built up over years of delivery.

Raising the bar in 2026.

The cloud landscape has changed significantly since Macquarie Cloud Services first achieved our Azure Expert MSP status in 2021.

Customers are no longer looking solely for cloud infrastructure. They need guidance on AI adoption, security posture, governance, operational efficiency, and cost optimisation, all while managing increasingly complex technology environments.

This year’s audit reflects the work already underway across customer reporting, intelligent automation, data and AI capabilities and our managed Azure service enhancements. It also recognises the maturity of our Cloud Management Platform and our continued investment in automation, governance and operational excellence.

What sets us apart during the assessment is a Cloud Management Platform that we continuously evolve, not just maintain. We’ve built strong governance, security and landing zone capabilities into our managed environments, and we’re incorporating emerging technologies, including Agentic AI, into how we deliver. The result is consistent operational standards and outcomes that our customers can rely on, engagement after engagement.

What this means for customers.

For customers, Azure Expert MSP status provides independent assurance that your cloud environment is being managed by a provider with proven expertise, mature operational processes and alignment with Microsoft’s best practices.

Day-to-day, this means you get:

  • Proven Azure expertise across strategy, migration, optimisation and operations
  • Governance and security frameworks aligned to Microsoft recommendations
  • Advanced automation and operational tooling
  • FinOps-led cloud cost optimisation
  • A team committed to continuous improvement and innovation that evolves as you modernise.

Most importantly, it means partnering with a provider that has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to deliver measurable business outcomes through Azure, year after year.

A team achievement.

Maintaining Azure Expert MSP status is never the result of a single audit.

It represents months of preparation and the collective effort of teams across engineering, architecture, operations, customer success, governance and leadership.

This year’s renewal reflects the dedication of the entire Macquarie Cloud Services Azure practice, and the significant capability built into our managed services offerings, including AI-ready landing zones, governance guardrails and advanced operational tooling. As cloud environments grow more complex and organisations look to unlock value from AI, security and data initiatives, maintaining this level of independent validation matters more than ever. We’re proud to continue setting the benchmark.

Certified. Audited. Proven.

Six years, and no sign of slowing down.
