We’re absolutely buzzing that Macquarie Cloud Services has been named Prosple’s #1 Graduate Workplace in Australia – but the real thrill comes from hearing our own graduates say, “I wish I’d joined Macquarie’s graduate programme sooner.” Nothing beats feedback straight from the front line.

While hearing that kind of praise makes us proud, seeing it validated by Prosple takes it up a notch. Prosple gathers data straight from the mouths of grads, thousands of candid reviews and surveys alumni to spotlight workplaces that truly deliver. Earning the top spot in Cybersecurity – outranking names like Cisco, Amazon and Google – confirms what our grads already know: here, you’ll discover a hands-on learning culture and a community that champions your growth.

We start early. Here’s why.

It all started back in 2012, before Macquarie Cloud Services even had a dedicated graduate program. Our talented engineers could resolve almost any incident at the speed of light, yet we sometimes left customers tangled in acronym overload. For instance, where some providers might tell you “We’re seeing BGP session resets on the core router and the upstream DNS resolver is unresponsive,” we’d prefer to say: “We detected a misconfiguration that briefly interrupted access to your virtual servers. We’ve resolved the issue, and your applications are back online.”

For me it was a light-bulb moment: we needed engineers who were as fluent in human language as they were in code. By recruiting new graduates and immersing them in our way of working, we could weave Macquarie Cloud Services’ technical standards, values and customer-first mindset into every conversation.

And so we welcomed our first cohort from local universities into our prototype graduate program. Back then, the journey began with Tier 1 roles and biannual certifications in networking and cloud technologies. At the two-year mark, each engineer advanced to Tier 2, earning accreditations  from the industry’s heavy hitters to tackle our most complex challenges.

Real responsibility from day one.

From those humble beginnings, today we’re pretty proud of what we’ve built. Join us as a grad and you won’t be bound by pointless busywork – from day one, you’ll own real incidents alongside senior engineers. One day you might be scripting automations, the next turning a technical update into clear, reassuring advice for a worried customer. In time, you’ll have the option to dive into DevOps challenges and then handle complex security issues. You may also find yourself building technical solutions for government clients, learning the full breadth of cloud services in action.

Mentorship is woven into every stage: you’ll have a dedicated tech lead and a buddy for regular catch‑ups, plus unlimited access to our Learning Academy whenever you’re ready to deepen your skills. And to ensure you grow technically, you’ll sit industry‑recognised certifications every six months. By the end of your two‑year Tier 2 journey, you’ll hold advanced accreditations from Fortinet, Red Hat, Cisco and Microsoft – and you’ll have a network of mentors and peers who back you all the way.

Your 10-year career map, sorted.

Life doesn’t end when the graduate program does, and we want to make sure every one of our graduates has a rewarding career beyond those initial two years. That’s why we guide you through a 10-year roadmap that brings every milestone into focus. You’ll know when to expect your next salary bump and which certifications will deepen your expertise.

Further down the track, we’ll also map out the path into senior or specialist roles, making sure you’re ready for leadership or technical mastery. Before your time in our graduate program wraps up, you and your mentor will chart the next stage – whether that means leading a project team, specialising in a cutting-edge technology or stepping into a customer-facing role.

I’m proud to say our approach has driven real results – incident-resolution times are down, we have an industry leading net promoter score of 92 and we were named the #1 Technology Great Place to Work in Australia for 2025. And perhaps most importantly, most of our graduates stay on long after their official two-year journey ends.

It’s proof that when you combine top‑tier training with genuine human connection, great things happen.

Ready to launch your career?

If you’re planning a career in IT and are hungry for more, you’ll find it here. We welcome 15-20 talented new grads each year, and we’re recruiting all-year round.

Discover what makes our award-winning graduate program unique, then jump into a community that values your curiosity as much as your technical skill. Let’s write the next chapter of cloud services together.
